Athena Thai

Athena Thai is a biochemistry student at California State University, Long Beach, and an undergraduate researcher in the Wahlman Lab. Since joining the group in 2023, she has presented her work at multiple conferences, including the ACS National Meeting, the CSUBIOTECH Annual Conference, and the UCI Chemistry Summer Research Symposium. In 2025, she was selected to conduct summer research in Dr. Sarah Reisman’s lab at Caltech, where she is expanding her experience in synthetic chemistry.

Beyond the lab, Athena serves as Co-Creative Director of the CSULB Biotechnology Club, where she helps shape the club’s branding, visual identity, and public engagement strategy. She also serves as Treasurer for the Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society (SAACS), supporting student leadership and outreach within the chemistry community.
