Yvette Mendoza White
My name is Yvette Mendoza White, and I am the President of the Biotechnology Club. I’m passionate about using science to improve lives and am working toward my PhD in biomedical research, with a focus on developing stem cell-based treatments for diabetes. My major is Biology, with a concentration in Molecular Cell Biology and Physiology, at CSULB, and I am also pursuing a Biotechnology Certificate. After graduation, I plan to apply for a stem cell research internship at CSULB to gain more experience in translational biology and regenerative medicine. My academic background includes hands-on research in climate science and biotechnology, where I have gained experience in data analysis, fieldwork, and presenting research at conferences. Before transitioning into science, I worked in Human Resources for over five years, helping to hire, train, and support more than 600 team members across multiple locations. That experience taught me how to lead teams, communicate effectively, and manage complex projects, skills I now apply to research and scientific collaboration.
