Tyler Carillo

My name is Tyler Carrillo, and I’m the club Secretary. I’m a Molecular Cell Biology student currently conducting research with Dr. Perla Ayala on cell cultures. I have over 200 hours of volunteer experience with the Michelle Steel for Congress Campaign, where I developed strong skills in community engagement and grassroots organizing. As an active member of the Math Olympiad, I have helped organize board meetings and mentor new members, fostering a collaborative, growth-oriented team environment. I’m also a member of the Academic WorldQuest team that placed third in the county in 2023, demonstrating my strengths in research, global awareness, and teamwork.
When I’m not in the lab working with human cell cultures alongside Dr. Ayala, you can usually find me at the beach—not just for the sun, but for cleanup events to help keep our oceans plastic-free. To unwind, I’m either practicing guitar or binge-watching a good show. Always happy to chat about biology, music, or the best series currently streaming!
